Here at South Santee Aquaculture, we provide installation and service of fountains, circulators and aerators, pond and lakewater management including aquatic weed control, water aeration systems, fish stocking and algae control. We are presently in our 20th year of business and proud of our accomplishments in water quality management services for the South Carolina coast, working diligently with our local Department of Natural Resources and Wildlife Management Agencies to help protect our tributaries and estuaries.
South Carolina’s seafood business is a huge economic driver in our agriculture industry. The Big Picture looks at an initiative that pushes local vendors and restaurants to exclusively purchase homegrown, fresh, SC seafood.
Through our monthly service contracts we manage hundreds of ponds and lakes along the South Carolina coast helping to create balanced eco-systems to establish effective, manageable aquatic buffer zones. These buffers inhibit wastewater and stormwater run-off pollutants from entering and destroying our pristine natural aquatic breeding grounds. Our clients are primarily industrial facilities, commercial pond and lake owners, home owners associations, businesses and golfing communities. AlgaeControl.US (the Master Distributor for Sonic Solutions, LLC) is a division of South Santee Aquaculture, Inc. created to distribute the Sonic Solutions ultrasonic chemical-free algae control products. AlgaeControl.US offers the most effective chemical-free algae control method available not only to our local clients, but to dealers, agents and all who have algae control problems worldwide. We offer a variety of pond and lake management services to our commercial clients. Let us help you maintain your investment value inyour water impoundments, lakes and pond systems. Don't let a poorly maintained water system detract from the beauty and value of your investment.
do not always give the desired results. For
example, mats of filamentous algae may be removed with a rake, screen
wire, or similar devices; however this control method is very labor
intensive and provides only temporary control. In some instances, the
algae may seem to grow as fast as they are removed. Before using
chemicals, you should consider potential contamination of domestic
water supplies and the waiting periods for watering livestock, eating
fish, swimming and irrigation. In general, you must have a license to
dispense many of the chemicals used as algaecides.
Now there is a better way to control algae. It is environmentally friendly, cost effective and chemical-free. The method is not revolutionary technology. It was discovered decades ago that ultrasound would destroy algae cells. However, at the time of the discovery, ultrasonic wave generators were too costly to make it a marketable product. But today, underwater ultrasonic sound wave generation that is inaudible to and no threat to people, animals, fish or plants is now available and affordable for those who want to get rid of algae and other harmful micro-organisms such as destructive root parasitic fungi, Fusarium and Pythium.
